3. I’m Choosing to Keep Going Even When I Feel Completely Lost
There are moments in my life when everything feels uncertain. I don’t always know what direction I’m heading in, and sometimes that uncertainty feels heavy on my chest. I’ve questioned my choices, my pace, and even my purpose more times than I can count. Being torn between different paths like whether I should pursue a course related to hospitality since cruise ship job can be practical or something more office-based since that is the current nature of my work or choose my passion like baking, this has made me feel like I’m standing still while everyone else is moving forward.
Before, whenever I felt lost, I saw it as a failure, especially when the time my batchmate keep moving forward on their courses while me has been dropped out since I cannot do work and studies at the same time and I am still undecided on what path to choose. I thought that by a certain age, I should already have clarity, confidence, and a solid plan. But the truth is, life hasn’t worked that way for me. And instead of constantly punishing myself for not having answers, I’m learning to do something much braver.
Choosing to keep going doesn’t mean I suddenly feel motivated every day. It means I wake up, show up to work, complete my responsibilities, and push through even when I feel unsure of myself. It means allowing myself to exist in the in-between stage of life without believing that it makes me less valuable.
I’m starting to understand that feeling lost doesn’t mean I’m weak, it means I’m still searching. And searching requires courage. Every day I choose not to give up on myself is already a step toward becoming a better version of who I am.
